We’ve chosen these routes based on their historical significance, breathtaking landscapes, and the sheer challenge they present. These climbs are not just famous; they are the pinnacle of European cycling, each with its own story, offering a mix of high-altitude ascents, stunning descents, and world-renowned climbs that have tested even the best cyclists in history.

ROUTE 01

Sa Calobra, Mallorca

A spectacular serpentine climb in the Tramuntana Mountains of Mallorca, Sa Calobra is a cyclist's dream. Starting at the sea, the road twists its way up into the mountains, offering dramatic views at every turn.

  • Distance: 10 km

  • Ascent: 668 m

TRIVIA

This climb is often paired with Puig Major to create the ultimate Mallorca cycling challenge.

HIGHLIGHT

Based in Port de Soller, the cycling hub of Mallorca, this climb is a must-do for any cyclist visiting the island.

ROUTE 02

Mont Ventoux, Provence

Known as "The Beast of Provence," Mont Ventoux is one of the most challenging and iconic climbs in the world of cycling. Its exposed white limestone summit is a stark contrast to the lush surroundings below.

  • Ascent: 1,611 m

TRIVIA

The mountain gained notoriety when British cyclist Tom Simpson tragically died near the summit during the 1967 Tour de France.

Alpe d'Huez, Alps

One of the most famous climbs in the Tour de France, Alpe d'Huez is renowned for its 21 hairpin bends and breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps. It’s a climb steeped in cycling history.

  • Ascent: 1,071 m

TRIVIA

The climb has been the decisive battleground in many Tours de France, most famously during Stephen Roche's 1987 victory.
