This glorious mountain range gives you ample opportunity to test yourself, and provides some truly stunning scenery. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s designated as an area of great physical and cultural significance.
Central Mallorca
Once you ride away from the hustle and bustle of coastal Mallorca, you discover a completely different world of almost deserted roads and views of the surrounding mountains or down to the Mediterranean. It’s true cycling heaven.
Port de Pollenca
If riding along the Mediterranean coast is your thing, then this is the perfect place to base yourself. Flat roads let you add a little more to your distance, and you’re never far from yet another stunning sea view.
Deia - Historic and Spectacular Mallorca, with nearby Valledemossa
Discover one of the most beautiful and historic villages in Mallorca.

While not on the coast, there are spectacular views of the mountains and the sea.
Es Moli Hotel
The Es Moli Hotel is a great example for the types of accommodation. There is a classic ride of 3 and a half hours to Sa Colabra from the Hotel.
Es Moli has a private beach and a beautiful pool for after the rides. Es Moli is a popular hotel, but off-season it can make a great choice for the cyclist.
It is on the expensive side, but you are getting great facilities for the price.
Our Favourite Route in Sierra de Traumuntana
SANT EL & GALILAEA
A long ride to Sant El, with a return through Galilea. Exactly 100km, with a total alt gain of 2,000, over 7 and a half hours. We head to the other edge of the island to Sant Elm.
Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Tramuntana mountain range, this quaint Mallorcan district nestles among four smaller peaks, where scattered farms and vineyards scale the heights around the historic town centre.

Typical Sierra de Traumuntana Trip Itinerary

A short, sharp trip to the coast. 3 and a half hours with a swim in a highly scenic location
Note: return by the same route, unless we can find a different one.
Bring a light towel and swimming trunks (if you can)
Dinner on Day 1, we recommend dining in Valledemossa in Es Taller, as spectacular dining experience. This is a varied restaurant with great outdoor dining.
A brilliant day with the highlight being a full view of the Cap Formentor and the Lighthouse. This is a 130 km (2000m Altitude Gain) day ride with amazing views of the lighthouse, the coast and the inland Tramuntana back to base in the beautiful Hotel Borday Continental.

The resident community of Valledemossa is small, but this area boasts many visitors attracted by the island’s hidden places, steeped in history and authentic Mallorcan culture. As well as winding village streets and historic agricultural systems, there is the the history of nearby Deia.
A short 25K ride return to the great beach in Port de Soller, a giant sand beach with plenty of room to play and the most swim friendly water you can imagine. Arrangement can be made to collect bikes in Alcudia or at the hotel, as is preferred. Bring a good lock or keep your bike under a close eye at the beach or in the cafes!
